Shahbaz Ali is a visionary entrepreneur and strategic executive manager with more than 20 years' experience creating dynamic solutions for enterprises. Shahbaz serves as the public face of Tarmin and brings the vigor and experience of a seasoned entrepreneur with a history of successful companies. Shahbaz today oversees all core business activities, including marketing, partnership development and sales at Tarmin. Shahbaz is the creator of the company’s award-winning GridBank product.
Prior to co-founding Tarmin, Shahbaz worked for both innovative startups and market leading companies that include Invensys, Alcatel-Lucent, Mastercard and Mondex. He played a key role in the acquisition of Mondex which, at the time, was the largest ever acquisition of a European startup company.
Shahbaz holds a BSc(Hons) in Software Engineering from London Southbank University and has completed a PhD course of study in Software Requirements Engineering from the Open University.
Steve Simpson is a talented and innovative engineer with over 20 years' engineering project management experience. As Tarmin’s Chief Technology Officer, Steve oversees Tarmin’s fast growing engineering team and is charged with the implementation of GridBank roadmap items.
Prior to co-founding Tarmin, Steve worked for a cross-section of leading organizations that include Nissan Motor Manufacturing, Advanced Wave, Mastercard and Mondex where he helped develop the now ubiquitous Chip and PIN banking technology.
Steve holds a BSc(Hons) in Physics and Astrophysics from the University of Leicester and a MSc in Astronomical Technology from the University of Edinburgh.
With deep domain expertise, firmly established relationships and a proven record of success, Peter is a results driven big picture strategist with a passionate focus on sales execution.
Peter brings over 20 years of storage focused sales experience to Tarmin. Peter’s career encompasses time spent as a Senior Program Analyst. at the Enterprise Strategy Group, an acclaimed technology analyst firm with a remarkable storage practice. Previously, Peter was VP of Sales at Reldata, an innovative developer of unified storage technologies, VP of Business Development at iSCSI pioneer iStor Networks and Director of OEM Sales at CMD Technology which under Peter’s leadership grew to become the world's leading supplier in SCSI and RAID peripheral controller solutions for the DEC and the UNIX/Open Systems market which led to its acquisition by Silicon Image, Nasdaq: SIMG. In addition, Peter has previously served as an advisor to leading companies that include Dell and HP.
Peter received a degree in Aviation Management from Daniel Webster College and has furthered his professional education though engagement in courses at Harvard University Extension School.
Alan Rainsdon is a sales and business development professional with more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business development. Alan’s early experience in product deployment testing, and sales helped to shape his ability to engage and develop deep relationships with customers and partners around the globe. Alan drives Tarmin’s new business development efforts with key partners and customers.
Prior to joining Tarmin, Alan served in sales and marketing leadership positions at IBM and Novell, including Director of Global Marketing Services, Manager of Channel Marketing, and Global Sales lead for ISV solutions. Alan has developed business in Aerospace and Defense, Banking, Financial Services, Government, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Retail and Telecommunications industries.
Alan earned his MBA from Auburn University, where he majored in Marketing and Management of Technology. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University, in Accounting and Business Administration. He has continued his education through professional studies in sales, market analysis, marketing and business development at Duke and Pace University.
Joseph Lynn is a high energy marketing professional with over 10 years’ experience in creating strategies for articulating compelling competitive advantages across a full range of channels. In his role as Director of Marketing, Joseph works to strengthen the overall Tarmin brand and corporate message through engagement with a number of professional media personnel and analysts.
Prior to joining Tarmin, Joseph served at Marzac Investment, a boutique Paris venture capital fund where he oversaw day-to-day operations, including marketing and due diligence. Previously, Joseph was a Senior Technical Consultant with Trayport, a leading developer of finance software.
Joseph holds a BA(Hons) in Psychology from the University of Sussex and an MBA from the Grenoble Graduate School of Business.
Nic Metcalfe is a skilled sales professional who has over 14 years' success and achievement in storage software sales. In his role as Director of Sales, EMEA, Nic works to deliver the ultimate satisfaction and value to the customer.
Prior to joining Tarmin, Nic worked at Easy Software where he helped orchestrate significant growth amongst channel partners through a high-touch sales methodology. Previously, Nic was a channel partner manager at Veritas Software.
Nic holds a BA(Hons) in Economics from the University of Lancaster.
Passionately technical and peerless solution focused engineering abilities distinguish Brad and make him a key contributor in evangelizing the Tarmin GridBank message in enterprise accounts.
With unique specialization in compliance and risk management focused engineering, Brad brings a great wealth of experience to Tarmin’s rapidly growing field activities. With prior roles at Contoural as a enterprise data management and discovery readiness consultant, StorCom as an engagement manager and EMC where he was a systems engineering manager, Brad has been directly involved in a great number of mission critical enterprise scale mission critical system deployments and been actively engaged with practically every major storage innovation of the past 15 years.
Brad holds a degree in aviation flight engineering and technology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and an electrical engineering designation from Devry University, graduating at the top of his class.
Aaron Jarson is an accomplished operations professional with over 12 years' experience overseeing a wide range of corporate administrative matters. In his role as Director of Operations, Aaron works to ensure operational coherence and efficiency across the range of stakeholders.
Prior to joining Tarmin, Aaron was VP of Operations at PublicLoans, where he helped architect and manage all aspects of the company’s rapid market growth. Previously, Aaron Co-Founded EnsureLink, a pioneer in the managed security space which grew to become the leading issuer of digital certificates in its field.
Aaron holds BA degrees in Environmental Studies and Legal Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
