GridBank File System

GridBank delivers massively scalable, high performance, random access Enterprise Object Storage that is media independent and can utilize any type of storage to suit an organization’s performance and budget needs including SSD, SAN, NAS, JBOD, Tape or Cloud storage. The GridBank File System unifies all data repositories and exposes globally distributed data stores through the global namespace, eliminating data silos and improving storage utilization. In conjunction with the Storage Optimization layer, the GridBank File System optimizes data volumes with compression and distributed Object Dedupe, eliminating duplicates across the data estate.

GridBank Data Management

The GridBank Data Management Platform solution stack provides one of the most robust and feature rich data management solutions available.

  • Information Governance Framework - GridBank offers a policy-driven information governance framework, leveraging the functionalities provided through the solution stack .
  • Data Security – GridBank integrates with Active Directory for identity oriented security and role-based access and authentication.
  • Data Encryption - Provides several forms of encryption, including AES and Blowfish, offering both data at rest and data in motion encryption.

GridBank MetaBase

The GridBank MetaBase is a Distributed Metadata Repository that indexes 3 types of metadata from all unstructured data sources. The GridBank MetaBase indexes file property and attribute metadata, full text content metadata and custom arbitrary key value pair metadata. This distributed store consolidates disparate datasets, offering unified unstructured metadata search across all storage pools for on demand access to data, e-Discovery and data classification.

GridBank Policy Engine

At the core of the solution is the GridBank Policy Engine that automates data object migration, ingestion and management from all external sources and within and between storage pools. These policies can be configured on the basis of granular file table metadata, customizable metadata, or full text indexed object content, providing a unique data centric focus to information management.

Multi-Tenancy & Global Namespace

GridBank delivers a single global namespace, exposing data through standard protocols, including CIFS and NFS, eliminating data silos with a single unified view of corporate data, reducing infrastructure complexity. The Multi-Tenancy layer provides the capability to provide tenants and sub-tenants within the infrastructure to provide logical separation of namespaces between departments or, in the case of managed service providers or internal service providers, separate clients.

Application Integration

GridBank provides seamless application integration, including file, Exchange, SharePoint, instant messaging, social streams, and big data analytics, such as Hadoop integration to enable data-in-place analytics, reporting and dashboarding across all unstructured data sources.

Multiple Protocol Access

File, Email, SharePoint, social & IM stream data is captured and stored into virtualized enterprise object storage pools. All data can be accessed using standard network protocols such as SMB (CIFS), NFS, as well as web access using HTTPS and FTP. GridBank also supports REST API for data management, S3, CDMI and OpenStack compatible APIs for cloud provisioning and integration with existing applications. This multiple access and protocol support breaks down the barriers for the growing mobile workforce, facilitating the journey to the cloud and adding significant value and flexibility for a geographically dispersed organization.
